Katie Davis Wins Glamour Magazine Award

Oasis Audio congratulates Katie Davis, author of the best-selling Kisses from Katie, who recently received Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year 2012 Readers’ Choice Award.
Katie is the founder of Amazima Ministries International — but this remarkable woman is not your average ministry leader. At only 24 years old, Katie feeds 1,500 orphaned and vulnerable children every week and she is in the process of personally adopting 13 Ugandan girls. It sounds outrageous, but Katie has never been limited by expectations.
After a short trip to Africa during her senior year of high school, Katie shocked her family and friends with news that she felt compelled to forgo college and move to Uganda. Her family was heartbroken and Katie lost many of her friends as she sacrificed everything to follow God’s calling on her life. But within five years, she has connected 600 children with international sponsors, cares for 1,500 children every week, and inspires people around the world.
Katie was chosen from eight semi-finalists for Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year 2012 Readers’ Choice Award. She was featured in the magazine’s November 6 issue, and was recognized at the November 12 Women of the Year Awards Gala in New York City.
