Charlotte Bronte was born in 1816, the third child of six children. As a young girl, Charlotte was sent away to boarding where she soon earned several awards for outstanding scholarship. When Charlotte came home she instructed her sisters and began drawing and writing. Later Charlotte returned to school, this time as a teacher. She enjoyed the monotonous daily routine of teaching at the school. Charlotte’s first novel entitled The Professor was not met with great enthusiasm, however, her second novel Jane Eyre was an instant success. This work earned her three hundred pounds. Charlotte Bronte was only thirty-nine years old when she died. She had published some poem sets and three novels.
