On the afternoon of April 4th, 1968, Martin Luther King, Jr. was planning to have dinner at the home of Reverend Billy Kyles, a close friend and supporter. Reverend Kyles was standing near Dr. King when he was assassinated. Rushing to get home from baseball practice so he could join the group for dinner was Dwain Kyles, Billy’s son. Dwain J. Kyles is an attorney and businessman. Dwain’s father still travels the country, speaking to groups and organizations about the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”
